F-4E’s in 1978 (I)
Returning to Soesterberg in a tight overhead break approach, are two F-4E “Phantoms” of 32nd T.F.S. and one F-5E “Tiger” of 527th T.F.T.A.S.
from RAF Alconbury, after a dissimilar air combat trainings mission (D.A.C.T.). The “Tigers” (the so called ‘agressors’), were painted in the
camouflage-colours of Russian jet-fighters. (Soesterberg, 1978).
F-4E’s 74-1046 and 74-1053 during take-off from Soesterberg A.B. on Monday April 17, 1978.
F-4E 74-1054 on it’s way to the runway on a cold, clear sunny day in Spring of 1978 (Wednesday April 12). This F-4E left Soesterberg for good
in October of that year.
